FAQ

What kind of photography do you do?

The short answer is everything or maybe, almost anything.

The long answer is I love to do variety of projects. This keeps me engaged and allows me to bring a fresh mind to projects. I love the sweetness of a newborn session, the raw quality of birth photography, the romance of a wedding, the controlled chaos of a family session, the story telling of branding, the control of products and preciseness of headshots. I can’t list them all but each project comes with their own challenge and requires a little something different from me.

What kind of photographer are you?

While I have a hard time with labels but I can give you a few discriptors if that helps.

Natural light- I love natural light (like it connects to my soul kinda love). That being said I love to search out the natural light and around it. This however isn’t always possible because unfortunately life doesn’t alway work in perfect coordination with golden hour. So in the cases where I have to make my own light I love the chance to take of little more power of the mood. OTHER INFORMATION

Lifestyle- This is a word that gets thrown around a lot so let me tell you what it means to me. My goal as a photographer is to document the world around me in an authentic way. That means I love to photograph life as its happening and in cases where I’m setting a scene or creating a moment I try to do that in an authentic way. My favorite photos are the in-between moments- I think they show life at their fullest.

What equipment do use?

In life I’m not generally brand loyal but with photography I am.

I use Canon digital camera bodies and lenses. Currently I using a Canon dslr 5d mark III and canon l series 50mm f/1.2, 70-200mm f/2.8 and 24mm f/1.4 (CHECK). I alway photograph with at least one back-camera body and depending on the project bring along my studio lights.

For post processing I use Mac, Lightroom and photoshop.

When I’m feeling creative with my personal projects I sometimes pull out me favorite film camera my Mamiya NUMBER medium format. I’m still holding out for the day I have my own darkroom.

But what does it cost?

For very few of us is cost not a consideration so I’m never put off by this question. The answer is it depends on the project. All projects are different and have different moving parts but this is my general price structure.

$300 portrait session

$3000 wedding

$800 commercial day rate

Do you travel?

Yes, yes and yes! While I love my city I also love to travel. It’s a special treat when I can combine photography and travel. There are additional fees for travel but they are accessed per project.
